Meet Ashleigh Gerleman, Account Coordinator at RBA

What is your background?

I was born and raised in Frisco, Texas where I developed a strong love for competitive cheerleading, dogs, and the Dallas Cowboys. After graduating from Frisco High School, I was lucky enough to attend my dream school, The University of Texas at Austin, where I majored in advertising. I completed three advertising-related internships and fell in love with all things branding. Following college, I traveled Europe, moved to Dallas, adopted a puppy, and began my professional career at RocketBrand as an Account Coordinator.

What drew you to a career in marketing and advertising?

When I was a freshman in college I took my first advertising class and never looked back. After interning at my first agency in Austin, Texas, I knew that this was what I wanted to be doing. I found myself at home in this field and felt that I could express myself through creativity in an ever-evolving industry.

What’s your favorite part about working at RocketBrand?

I love having the opportunity to work on such a wide roster of clients. I truly enjoy being able to learn about and help grow a multitude of companies that are all so extremely rewarding to be a part of.

What do you do outside of work?

I enjoy being outside, taking my dog Ziggy on walks, and hanging out with friends. I am a music lover and try to attend as many concerts and festivals as possible.

What’s the best vacation you’ve ever been on?

The best vacation I have ever been on is when I traveled Europe with my two best friends following our college graduation. Visiting 8 countries in 3 weeks was a challenge in itself, but was truly the most amazing time of my life. My favorite city we visited was Interlaken, Switzerland where we white water rafted in freezing glacier waters and paraglided over the Bernese Alps.

Whats your guilty pleasure movie or show?

I’ve seen It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia way too many times, but it’s still the first thing that I turn on when lounging at home.

Best Dallas BBQ?

Franklin Barbecue in Austin, Texas tops any Dallas BBQ.

What music are you currently listening to?

Currently I am listening to Khalid, Post Malone, and Sam Smith. I enjoy a wide variety of music but always come back to these three.

What inspires you?

Being around other creatives really inspires me. I love seeing what people are able to accomplish and then thinking about how I can push myself to achieve things greater than I thought possible.

What advice would you give someone looking to get into Marketing and Advertising?

Before jumping into the industry, do as much learning and research as possible. Find out what kind of agency you want to be a part of or what kind of clients you want to work with. Obtaining a wide variety of skills will help further your influence in the work place.
